A week for listening to others in order to understand yourself

The Flow of 26 January – 1 February 2026

This week, much like last week, is less about dramatic external events and more about something quietly beginning to shift deep within. It is a time when subtle inner movements matter more than visible progress.

Some of you may feel a vague lack of motivation, but this is actually a week when forcing yourself into action is not advisable. Taking things slowly will lead to better outcomes. Rest is not avoidance—it is the correct rhythm for now.

Four planets gathered in Capricorn

Continuing from last week, four major planets—the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars—are gathered in Capricorn.

Capricorn symbolises responsibility and realistic foundations. When so many planets concentrate here, our awareness naturally drifts toward thoughts of “I should be more organised” or “I need to get things in order.”

This time, however, that concentration is occurring in the 4th house, the domain of home, family, and emotional foundations.

In other words, this is not a week for striving in the outside world, but one for tending to your own place of belonging. You may feel an urge to tidy your living space or to re-examine family relationships. These small impulses may, in fact, be quiet invitations from the universe. Organising your home is also a way of organising your inner world.

This Capricorn emphasis will continue until early February.

A test of the ability to truly listen

One key point this week is that the Sun and Mercury are overlapping in a special area called Shravana.

Shravana literally means “to listen.” As this domain is ruled by the Moon, it asks us not merely to hear with our ears, but to listen with the heart. The Sun represents the self, and Mercury represents intellect and communication—so by listening to others, you may come to understand your own true feelings more clearly.

What matters here is not whether the other person understands what you are saying, but whether you understand yourself.

When listening to someone, do you find yourself already planning your next response?

This week, it may be helpful to let go of that habit and instead turn your attention inward, gently exploring what you truly want beneath the surface.

Emotional sensitivity around 28 January

From the 27th to the 28th, the Moon forms tense angles with Venus and Mars.

This can make emotions more sensitive than usual. In relationships, misunderstandings may arise easily, and a single casual remark could feel unexpectedly hurtful. There may also be a tendency to read too much into someone’s behaviour.

The key is not to react impulsively. If irritation arises, take a deep breath. If sadness comes up, allow yourself to feel it fully. Emotions themselves are not the problem. Simply observing them—“Ah, this is how I’m feeling right now”—can help you avoid unnecessary conflict.

This sensitivity is also linked to Saturn’s position in Pisces, which is influencing the 6th house (health and daily routines).

Pisces is a sign where boundaries easily blur. You may find yourself absorbing other people’s emotions or feeling drained by excessive empathy. If you have been feeling unusually tired, it may be because your sensitivity is heightened by planetary influences.

That is precisely why personal routines become essential.

Waking up at the same time each morning, drinking tea in a familiar place, or deliberately stepping away from your phone at night—small, consistent habits act like protective armour for the heart.

Listening to others is important this week, but do not neglect to check in with how you are feeling.

Connections that fade naturally

The planet Ketu is positioned in Leo in the 11th house, which governs friendships and communities. Ketu symbolises release and detachment.

As a result, some relationships may naturally begin to fade. This can feel sad, but at a soul level it represents a kind of graduation. There is no need to hold on tightly. Gently letting go with gratitude is the healthiest response at this time.

Rather than clinging to what is leaving, open your heart to what is yet to come. Life becomes much lighter that way.

If a separation or decision arises now, it is best made after listening carefully to others—and then listening even more deeply to yourself.

Moving with the Moon

Between the 27th and the 30th, the Moon passes through three nakshatras—Ashwini, Bharani, and Krittika—each shaping the flow of the week.

  • 27th (Ashwini): An excellent day to begin something new. Trust your intuition and take a small step.

  • 28th (Bharani): A day that brings the courage to let go of what is no longer needed. A chance to release attachments.

  • 29th–30th (Krittika): A time of purification and clarity. Organising and tidying will directly improve your energy.

By flowing with this natural rhythm—starting in the first half of the week, then releasing and organising in the latter half—you may be surprised by how smoothly things unfold.

This week’s caution: do not force your energy

The planet Rahu is in Aquarius in the 5th house, the realm of creativity and self-expression. Rahu can exaggerate imagination, blurring the line between inspiration and fantasy.

Unusual ideas may arise, but instead of pushing yourself to turn them into immediate results, it may be wiser to treat them as playful thoughts for now.

If you do feel compelled to act, approach it lightly—like a child at play. That attitude is the key to using this placement positively.

Additionally, the Sun and Mars are both in a state known as Vriddha Avastha (the “old age” phase). Since the Sun represents the self and Mars represents action, you may feel lower on energy than usual. It is as though the planets are deliberately slowing you down, preventing impulsive action—especially to keep Rahu’s influence from becoming excessive.

For this reason, pushing yourself too hard this week is likely to result in wasted effort or burnout.

It is wiser to see this as a week for storing energy.

Go to bed earlier. Eat nourishing food. Avoid unnecessary commitments. This kind of quiet self-care is, in fact, the most effective way to improve your overall fortune right now.
