Only three months of 2025 left…
how fast time flies! It honestly feels as though each year passes more quickly.
This morning is relatively cool, so I’ve turned off the air conditioning and am writing this while enjoying the autumn breeze.
At this time of year, perhaps because it feels as though the year is slipping away, many people may find themselves in a nostalgic mood. Of course, some might say, “Well, as always, I’ve gone into decluttering mode this year too,” but doesn’t it feel a bit different? Rather than the usual “let’s clear everything out and feel refreshed!” energy, it’s more like carefully choosing what to carry forward into the coming year.
The lunar eclipse on 7 September and the partial solar eclipse on the 21st brought with them a sort of grand review.
You might have felt, “I’ve already looked at all this during the lunar eclipse—do I really need to go through it again for the solar eclipse?”
But the perspective was different.
The lunar eclipse brought an emotional cleansing—quite intense for many, I imagine—whereas the partial solar eclipse felt more about choosing for the future. It was a time to revisit plans, to ask self: is this truly what I want, is this really the direction I wish to head? It is more like tidying in the sense of questioning, “I want to begin, but I feel uncertain.”
Both eclipses left restless, unsettled, unable to feel calm. But even if you feel things aren’t moving forward, it’s fine. Right now, pausing is the right course of action.
Where this back-and-forth tends to show up is in the stars: the Sun is in Virgo, while retrograde Saturn sits in Pisces
—directly opposite, creating a clash. This represents the tug-of-war between “I really want to do this!” and “but there are things I must do…”. In other words, the “Sun of your heart” is being pulled against the “Saturn of reality.” In such moments, it helps to ask yourself: Which do I truly value most right now?
This might show up as:
-
Wanting to do something but feeling blocked by time or responsibility.
-
A mismatch between your own feelings and your family’s or work’s expectations.
-
Feeling you must act, but your body or mind refuses to move.
Mercury has shifted into Virgo, so practical tasks should flow more smoothly.
Virgo is Mercury’s home, and it offers strong support here.
For example, it may be wise to get your paperwork for next year’s tax return in order before this year ends. Even if you usually struggle with practicalities or tidying, things will move along more easily.
But Mercury moves quickly—it won’t stay still for long—so don’t miss your chance to make the most of this window. Clear your head, and the fog in your heart will also begin to lift.
Some may be feeling anxious about not moving forward. I often find myself full of ideas, yet uncertain about how to act or which step to take. In such cases, jotting your thoughts into an “ideas notebook” is invaluable. Opportunities will come later, and when they do, you’ll be ready to act smoothly.
And if you’re feeling vague or unfocused, travelling can be an excellent remedy.
During this period of eclipse and planetary transitions, “changing your environment” works like pressing a reset button inside. Quiet moments away, exposure to new cultures or unfamiliar places can spark inspiration and reveal new aspects of yourself. When planning or beginning a trip, it helps to see the time around the solar eclipse as a “preparation period”—it allows you to move with calmness rather than rush. If you do go, prepare thoroughly.
